Spinach and Ricotta Stuffed Pasta Shells

This hearty and comforting dish is perfect for a cozy meal. Jumbo pasta shells are stuffed with a creamy spinach and ricotta filling, topped with marinara sauce and mozzarella, then baked until bubbly and golden.


Ingredients You'll Need


 
  • 12 jumbo pasta shells

  • 1 1/2 cups ricotta cheese

  • 1 cup fresh spinach, chopped

  • 1 egg, beaten

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese


Preparing the Pasta Shells

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  • Cook pasta shells according to package directions until al dente.

  • Drain and set aside to cool slightly.


Making the Filling

  • In a medium bowl, combine:

    • ricotta

    • spinach

    • egg

    • garlic powder

    • salt

    • pepper.

  • Stir until well mixed.


Stuffing the Shells

  • Spoon the ricotta-spinach mixture into each cooked pasta shell.

  • Arrange the stuffed shells in a baking dish.


Assembling the Dish

  • Pour marinara sauce over the stuffed shells.

  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese on top.


Baking Time

  • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.

  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
